searching for a baptism or burial in Lymm or High Legh
« on: Wednesday 18 July 12 15:32 BST (UK) »
Enoch Holt son of Ruth, was born on 24 Feb 1848 in High Legh as "male" Holt - I'm wondering if or where he was baptised and which church would allow the child to be baptised

he died on 05th Feb 1909 in Newton in Makerfield, Lancashire but the IGI listed his burial in Cheshire on 08 Feb 1909 - I wonder where this could be?

his wife Hannah died 21st July 1890 in Newton in Makerfield, Lancashire but the IGI listed her burial in Cheshire on 23 July 1890 - I wonder where this could be?

any suggestions - thank you

Just a thought perhaps he was buried in Lymm because his grandparents came from there (Richard & Jane) and that when 'Newton' was given as his abode it was wrongly thought by the clerk to be Newton le Willows??

I have his death cert and he did live in Newton le Willows (aka Newton In Makerfield) - he is on census of 1881 / 91 and 1901 there in Lancashire but born Cheshire

would the burial be in the Parish Church of Lymm?

wondered if it must be a family plot - was hoping to find a headstone but that seems more rare these days

thanks

 ;)

Plimmerian - Lymm MIs have been transcribed - there seem to be two sets, one in the 1940s & another c1990 - Cheshire RO at Chester had at least one of these a while back when I visited:

hi,

have looked for 'Enoch's" and 'Holts' for the baptism (in lymm & High Leigh) just in case he was called something else, and cannot find anything - sorry!

Lymm Parish church does appear to have his grandma's burial 1862? and perhaps Richards 1876? so a family plot may be an option.
