Marriages Post 1945

Hi
Can anyone advise where I can obtain details of marrriages after 1945? I have one particular problem of a living male who definitely married twice and was divorced and then was a party to a divorce in 1972. No idea if he married that woman!

Obviously divorce files will be inaccessible for decades! Might photos or the certs included be available?
Grateful for advice.I do know divorce papers can be available in less than 60 years but in that case I could prove all parties were deceased.

Isn't it just a case of finding the marriage on the NZ BDM Marriages 1856-1990 microfiche, then ordering the certificate from the DIA website.

Pre-1956 marriages can also be found on the Marriages CD but 1957-1990 means looking through fiches.

1991-1997 Marriages can be found on a computer at Auckland Library.

Once you have the year and folio number you just fill in the form like normal.

I remember reading somewhere that your name and details are available to the bride and groom (should they ask for them) if you order a certificate for a marriage that took place less than 80 years ago.

Marriage Certs are in the divorce file.   I have had a couple of divorce files where photos were included, plus private letters and had their washing put on the line so to speak.  But the other files I have had, I haven't been lucky with photos.

Thanks folk!  "Going forward"  in NZ is new territory for me! And of course i would get a complicated one to start! 3 marriages for one fella!
According to Archives  photo & cert available for one marriage.

Where would I obtain the pre 1956 CD please? That would certainly help and then I'll have to start trolling through microfiche!

Or you can request Marriage CD look-ups here on the board, as some of us have access to the CD.

But if the marriage took place less than 80 years ago you need to ask people to PM you for the name(s).
