I'm looking for a Joseph Elks who married a Sarah Plumb born around 1799/1801......sarah was born in Lambley Notts but I have no idea where Joseph was born as I can't seem to find any record of him....I have a strong feeling he may have come from Derbyshire as some of Sarah's Plumb family lived in Derbyshire. The only child I can find for Joseph and Sarah is Harriett Elks born Lambley Notts

Yes, they are the ones I am researching....I have Joseph and Sarah marrying 1825 St Peters (think that is Notts) I can't seem to find anything at all on Joseph, not even a death

I found the one at Alton but not sure if it is my Joseph.....I know there is a lot of Elks from Staff....I was thinking maybe Derbyshire because I know Sarah had relatives there.
I have info on a Hannah Elks from Radford Notts who was born 1760 and died about 1834 but not sure if she could be related or where she was born

Mary Elks is with Paul Elks a Publican. Living Eyre Street. Ages are shown as 45 for Mary and 40 for Paul ( remember they were rounded up or down in this census)
