Hi Suzy,

1841 census :
HO107/974/2, Folio: 8; Page: 8

Staffordshire, Bradley

Richard Merrick, 50, Ag Lab
Elizabeth, 50
Elizabeth, 15
Harriet, 12

The image is quite feint, but I believe they were all born in county.

Kind regards,

Pels.

Thank you. Is Lapley part of Stafford?

Here you go, Suzy :

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/STS/Lapley/index.html

It was indexed as Sapley, but I read it on both returns as Lapley.

Thank you very much

I notice Louisa as being the granddaughter of Richard in 1851.  did she have the last name of Merrick/s?  I would presume she is the daughter of another son named Thomas which I have not found any marriage record for as yet.

Cheers

According to Family Search - it was Hannah who was Louisa's mother :

Christening: 30th April 1848
Louisa Merricks
Mother : Hannah Merricks
Bradley by Stafford.

Great.
I still have not found my way around the new family search site, back on training wheels with that one.

Thanks again
