Newfoundland 'Daily News' help please
« on: Thursday 02 August 12 12:57 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to find a death certificate for my GG Grandad James anderson Calvert.
I know from a web search that his death was recorded in the 'Daily News' newspaper, St John's, Newfoundland on 25 November 1923.

James Anderson Calvert 77

I wonder if anyone has access to that newspaper. I know it's a long shot, but I'm at a dead end otherwise.  ???

Thank you

p.s I know about his birth, marriage etc- it's just the death that I am stuck at.

Have you tried contacting the library in St. John's to see if they have archived newspapaers or know if they are on file at Memorial University in St. John's.

That is the best suggestion as we've had noone offer lookups there
Odd that the funeral wasn't mentioned here, as France's sister's funeral notice at the beginning of that year was transcribed

Do you have the son Archibald's death in B.C. in the forces during ww1? This site says he died of influenza whereas the War Graves Commission says pneumonia
