There is a 1914 marriage in Reading RD between Albert E Waters & Ellen Welch

Son's birth does show Harris as mothers maiden name though

hi. yes that is her. her parents are george harris and elizabeth eleanor harris nee welch and for some reason she was living with her welch grandparents during the 01 census, they are william welch and elizabeth greenaway. Her father died in 1901 but her mum elizabeth was still with us till 1956 so i guess maybe she had to get a job and her daughter stayed with her parents i dont know. Ellen's life makes me quite sad , poor lady died younger than i am now, she went through so much to have a child and died when he was only 9, my grandad was born in 1916, she eventually died of cervical cancer, what an insult after going through all that. poor granny.  No one knows what happened to her where she was buried, she isint in sonning i did wandder if maybe she ended up back in st marys but i dont know. which is why i thought maybe someone would know how we could find her.
thanks tracey

Hello
Wargrave and Sonning are not that far distant from each other. If you go to http://www.aboutbritain.com/maps/sonning-map.asp  and jiggle the map around you will see how close they are.
