Jane Eason McNeil
« on: Sunday 05 August 12 04:44 BST (UK) »
I am looking for Jane Eason McNeil who was born in Stirling, Scotland in 1856 to John McNeil and Elizabeth Gillespie McNeil.  She appears on the 1871 Scotland census and then I can't find anything after that.

Her brother James Gillespie McNeil came to New Zealand about 1879, married Christina Dorothea Hormann,  died in 1923 and is buried in Wanganui.

Hi,

Have you searched for a marriage and or death in Scotland for Jane?

Have you found the ship on which her brother James travelled to New Zealand? I cannot find Jane in the NZ BDM index, but she may have accompanied her brother to this country and perhaps returned to Scotland at a later date.

Hi

There is another topic on the Stirling Board that has Jane Eason McNeil marrying James McLaren in 1876 and it looks like the couple then emigrated to the United States.
