His wifes name was Jane Lambert,born about 1865,Wolsingham,Durham. On Janes 1911 census,it says they were married for 24 years,so as they married 1887,he died in 1911. Hope that makes sense. Also,his Mum died when he was only 11,in May 1869 in Roxburgshire. She was called;Eliza Tait.

I am still looking for him any idea why he is not on the census with his wife and children in 1901 and 1911 I can find them. take Care Lynette

Have no idea! Can't find him on any census,apart from 1861 scottish census,when he was 3. Only know about him through his marriage certificate in 1887! Thanks anyway for looking!

My G Grandmother was Eliza Jane Tait and her parents were from Scotland not related to your Tait's  I have started researching them again so I will keep a lookout for your Taits Take Care Lynette

Your Eliza Tait Death is on the Scotlandspeople Site.

Search under her maiden name Andrews and state other surname as Tait and you'll get is  - 1 credit  for the search and 5 credits for the Certificate.

Place Melrose, Roxburghshire


Certificate usually tells you parents names if known and spouse, place and date of death and how registered it , etc.

Hi Terianne,

Thanks for the info! Have been on Scotlands people and have got the certificate! She died of Lung disease and Lung inflamation. Her Dad;John Andrews and his wife;Mary Andrews,Formerly;Davis had already died,by the time Eliza died.
