Absolutely super - I was not aware that the National Archive resource existed - that will be a great help.
From the records, it appears that he enlisted three times. From Wikipedia, the 93rd Foot was stationed in Newfoundland until April 1814, and arrived back in England in August 1814. From records he was married on 28 April 1814 in North Berwick, East Lothian (I am pretty sure this is right from baptism records of sons, etc). The ages certainly add up to yield the right DOB from the census records; the occupation matches the census records; and the location appears right.
Is this possible - or is this the wrong person? How do I resolve this conflict?
I really appreciate the help. As I indicated in an earlier post, I am new at this - and especially new at looking up British, Scottish or Irish records. I appreciate the patience.
