Nathaniel Pembroke of Bakewell
« on: Thursday 09 August 12 02:08 BST (UK) »
I have a maybe ancestor named Nathaniel Pembroke who married in London in 1782 and said he was from Bakewell, Derby.  Can someone look him up for me?  I've looked but no luck so far in Bakewell.

Thanks, Laverdiere

Hi

I have checked my Bakewell CD, but nothing for him.

You might get more replies if you put your request on Look up Reguests rather than Look up Offers

Hi....there are a couple of guys with this name born in London,Surrey, and Kent..and several possible marriages in the same area. Do you know whom he married?......as a derbyshire specialist i believe that had he been born in Derbyshire, i would have found him.......and i haven't.

All the best

He married Mary Prichards in Chelsea St Luke London in 1782.  I've attached the image.  Maybe he was working  in Bakewell but actually from London?  It says they had a license so I wonder if I find that if it would give me more info?

If this is the Nathaniel and Mary I'm looking for they moved soon after marriage to Deal in Kent.

Thanks for your help.  Laverdiere

Yep......based on your feeling..the following children were baptised at the Parish Church Deal Kent..children of Nathaniel and Mary Pembroke:-

John 05.05.1783
Nathaniel 17.12.1784
William 03.04.1795........

Quite possible - on the marriage record that is only the place they were living at time of marriage -not place where they were born
