That's both of us who aren't very observant because he's called ... Emma !

There is a death for an Isabella Newsham in 1860 Lancaster aged 25.

Possible sighting of James Newsham in 1861:

James Newsham, Lodger, 24, Widr, Iron Moulder, born Blackburn
The birthplace of Blackburn may have been an error.  I noticed that son John Thomas was born in Blackburn in 1863 (mothers maiden name Mashiter) so maybe James had employment there for a time. 

This leads me to the marriage of a James Newsham to a Mary Jane Mashiter at Manchester Cathedral on 17th November, 1861 – worth pursing possibly.
