Hello All,
Can anyone tell me the birthplace/parents of Joseph Armstrong who wed Janet Wilson at Graitney (Gretna) on 15th Feb 1744, please?

hi,,   according to several tree's on another site

joseph  armstrong  b,gretna dumfrieshire 1720, his father was
 richard armstrong ?

janet  wilson  b, carluke  lan scotland.. i presume lan must be lanarkshire
4 may 1721
her parents were william wilson  1691---1765  &kathrine  patersone 1695-1765


joseph &janet had 10 children 2 of the sons went to canada or have you got that info?

I did have that, but several of us are searching for some definitive proof. You know how a lot of internet trees' info can be constructed using smoke & mirrors! People tend not to ref their work which isn't helpful.
I have some Y-DNA info which strongly suggests links back to the border, but Richard isn't a common Scottish Armstrong name, so would like to see some other evidence.
Hopefully something'll turn up.

hi, yes i know people just tend to copy other peoples trees without any confirmation  ,  but i couldn't come across anything else  good luck   :)
