From the 1851 census records I have confirmed Charles Bailey lived in Harpole Northants and was born there about 1822 [married to Elizabeth with daughters eliza and lucy]. Using FReeREG I have found 'other' Bailey's in Harpole and Heyford e.g. James Bailey married Ann botterill 10/3/1779 in Harpole and Charles Bailey married Sarah Barby in Heyford 17/11/1727. I suspect the Charles Bailey who married Sarah barby was Charles Bailey's[born 1822 in Harpole] grandfather. Unfortunately no searching on my part can connect Charles born in 1822 back to his parents/grandparents! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. Charles Bailey born 1822 is my great great great grandfather

Possible Baptism..Charles Bailey 3rd Nov.1822 St Faiths Kilsby-parents Samuel(labourer)+Mary-Abode Kilsby.

This must be the one bapt. at Kilsby

thankyou for all your replies - I am sure you have traced charles bailey back to his father, Samuel and therefore back to his grandfather Charles Bailey who married Sarah Barby  21/11/1727 St Peter and St Paul heyford,Northamptonshire.

could you suggest a way forward please? ???
I have found a baptism record for Sarah Barby 16 Feb 1706/07 St Peter and St Paul heyford,Northamptonshire through FreeReg [ father is John Barby and her mother is Elizabeth]
Can anybody suggest a way to trace her family back further? and also her husband Charles Bailey? I cannot find any baptismal or burial records for Charles or Sarah's parents!
I have tried FreeReg and found nothing at all for Charles but there were some barby's living in Heyford early 1600's,almost certainly related to Sarah.

really appreciate help. ;D
