Eliza HOOD

Hi,
Eliza is mentioned in her brothers will dated 1892. His name was William Hood. Eliza is mentioned as Eliza Freeman. I have never been able to find a HOOD/FREEMAN marriage. Wondered if she was married to someone else prior to marrying a Freeman. The following is a possibility and wondered if anyone can shed any light. Eliza Hood marries a Samuel Baylis/s sept 1844 Kings Norton 18 407.An Eliza Bayliss marries a William Freeman sept q 1856 Birmingham 6d 112. Trying to establish fathers name who was Joseph Hood prior to ordering a certificate. This is the only mention of Eliza in all the records I have of the Hood family so do not have a baptism/birth date sadly.

Hi John,

How old was William when he died?  There is a family on IGI with children William, Eliza, Joseph, John.  Parents Joseph and Charlotte Hood.  William is christened 05.02.1815 and Eliza 09.06.1822.  All children christened at Shenstone Staffs.

Cathy,
William died aged 83 in Reading Berkshire. He sold his iron foundry business to the GWR and was a wealthy man at the time of his death. He always records his pob as Sedgley throughout census. William had quite a few siblings to parents Joseph/Sophia - all born between 1800-1821 when Sophia died in childbirth with their last son Edward Brettle Hood. Joseph remarried Sarah Bagley Morgan in 1825. Joseph does not appear on 1841 census so died between 1825/41 as Sarah remarries a John Arnold in 1842 and dies aged 62 in 1861. So I do not know if Eliza Freeman nee Hood is the daughter of Joseph/Sophia or Joseph/Sarah.
