elizabeth Brooks, illegitimate daughter of sarah brooks was baptised in St Margaret's church Highham Gobion on 30/7/1797 according to Free Reg File#13791. By marrying John Bass in 1815 she became my 3rd great Grandmother. I'm searching in vain for details of her mother Sarah and her father, who ever he is. Are there Parish records of that period and could they contain details of support payments to single mothers?
