CARR, St. Michaels Church, Athy
« on: Saturday 18 August 12 17:38 BST (UK) »
Looking for confirmation of Denis Carr baptism at St. Michael's about 1822 and who his parents were. It is believed his parents were Martin Carr and Esther Dowling (also would like to confirm their marriage at this church as well.) Denis died in Salem, Massachusetts 09 May 1880. Trying to establish the family lineage in County Kildare. Any clues or direction is greatly appreciated. Joe

There's a baptism of a Dennis Carr showing up on the free index of Co. Kildare records on RootsIreland sometime between 1820-1824, however it doesn't appear to be in Athy (either RC or Church of Ireland records).

You have to pay to view the transcript, but it might be worth following up...

(an RC baptism record from this timeframe will probably show date of baptism, names for both parents, and possibly names of two godparents)
