Frank JONES was on Huyton Council about 1965
« on: Thursday 23 August 12 18:31 BST (UK) »
I think I met the above at my auntie Jin's flat in Wingate Towers around 1965. She was Jane Elizabeth Jones born 1891 and she lived in New Rd., Tuebrook before going to Huyton.

When she was killed on the road in 1974 there was an obit. put in the Echo on Mon. 2/09/1974 by her brother 'Chappie' Jones with a contact phone number on the Wirral.

If anyone can tell me what his actual name was and any other info it would help my family history. I have a lot of this Jones tree but want to fill in some bits.

Ginnie was a cousin of my father Alfred Henry Williams. Thanks Humphpaul

Is this her in 1901?
47 Lennon St West Derby
Thomas Jones 39
Jane wife 40
John 17, Thomas 14, William, Jane Elizabth 9, James P 6 and George 3

If it is you need to find the family in 1911 and then track down her brothers to see who is still alive in 1974 and he presumably is Chappie Jones

Dear Gibel. Thanks for your suggestion. Yes that was the family. In 1911 it says there had been 6 births and one death which I think was John born 1884. I have found deaths for William Fairclough Jones in 1964 and Thomas Robert J. in 1962 but not for James Peel J. or George Victor J. so I think it was one of them.

With such distinctive middle names it should be easy but not so far. But I will keep trying. Thanks again Humphpaul

Hi HumphPaul

James Peel Jones married Ellen Kelly in 1916 and I found a death for same name in Jan 1988 age 94 in Wallasey Born 19th July 1893. Maybe this is your man.

Dear SusieKelly. Thanks a million, that must be him. I had been searching just Liverpool which was a bit silly as the contact phone number Chappie gave in the obit. was Woodside, Birkenhead.

I phoned the number and the lady I spoke to said it had been their house since before 1974 but she had no idea about any Jones's and could not help. She probably thought I was a bit mad. Perhaps Chappie did not have a phone so just got a friend to help. I still can't see where the 'Chappie' comes from. I should have asked auntie Jin.

May I ask are you connected to the Ellen Kelly he married? Anyway thanks again, Humphpaul

I would try looking in the local newspaper for an obituary. You have his date of death which should make it easier.

Hi Humphpaul.

I can see why you would think I was connected with the surname, but no I am not related it was just a coincidence.

Thanks to Gibel and SusieKelly again.
I will try the obits next time in Liverpool RO.
The  christian names James Peel came from the fact that an aunt of his Elizabeth Jones married James PEEL.
All the best Humphpaul

The Wirral papers will not be at Liverpool you'll need to go to Birkenhead.
