fc scotland minister willm sutherland's wife

Anyone know who was fc scotland minister william sutherland b 3.4.1879 latheron, caithness (and working in glasgow)'s first wife ? When/where married/whether had kids etc n how she died? Know his 2nd wife was euphemia jean mcghie (m 7.3.1916)n had donald, ida and william. Thanks

Might I ask how you know there was an earlier marriage? Was he a widower at his second marriage?

You might like to check the 1911 census to see if he is married to his first wife then.Or even the 1901 depending on whether or not he was married at that time.

 (I have no idea what fc is either Diddy  ;))

Thanks for the replies diddy and manchester rambler - I meant the free church of scotland by fcs, sorry. Thanks also to ruskie; I forgot to mention he'd been living with a servant only in glasgow in 1911, and I couldn't find him at all in the 1901 scottish census, yet he was definitely described as a widower in his 1916 marriage certificate - any ideas in how to proceed anyone? Also the dunbeath heritage centre, Caithness had a family tree for us, added to by visitors as they come(as they do for many local families), and that said the marriage to euphemia mcghie was a 2nd one

Have you considered contact the Free Kirk to see what records they have. Perhaps they have an equivalent to Fasti, which might have the answer your queries?

There's a chance his first wife might be mentioned on his death registration.

1911 census states he was a widower
