Hi i am looking for help with the death of john rose lampard born in mere born 1840 married to elizabeth,
i have him as being 60 in 1901 census living in bristol.

Have you found where John Rose Lampard's middle name came from? At least 10 of the men in my Edden family have Rose as their middle name in the 1800s but as yet I haven't found where it originated.  I guess a Miss Rose married into the Eddens at some point or maybe it was in honour of some dignitary with the surname Rose?

Doesn't "probate to Elizabeth jane lampard" mean Elizabeth jane Lampard was the executor of the will - not necessarily the benificiary???

The 'Rose' part of the name John Rose Lampard seems to come from his paternal Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Rose. There is a 95% chance that he illegitimately fathered my Great Grandfather, James Lampard Smart born 1865 in Kilmington, Mere to Mary Ann Smart. :o
