Migration of WALL family to USA
« on: Sunday 26 August 12 21:25 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I am looking for more information on a rather large migration of my ancestors from Chatham, Kent, Ontario, Canada into the Cuyahoga, Ohio, USA area. Migration seems to have started c. 1890 with William Edgar WALL (b. 23 AUG 1868; Ontario, Canada). Newton Birrell, Mary Beatrice HART (nee WALL) and John WALL follow William. John WALL migrates with his wife Octavia STEWART and their daughter Iloe (b. 12 DEC 1892, Kent, Ontario, Canada). Most, if not all, of the men are generally listed as merchants. Some members worked for Wall Oil Corporation in Ohio. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Sandra,
Thank you. I am getting all of these links to work and am following the directions you stated above for accessing information via the Cleveland Library.

But, have you seen anything about immigration records? That's really what I am after for most of them. Is it possible they just traveled across the border undocumented?
Thanks,
John

Border Crossings -  From Canada to U.S cover 1895-1954
So far haven't come across William Wall/John Wall and there families on border crossing approx 1895 as census indicated.
Came across an entry for Octavis Stewart Wall for 19 June 1944 but nothing around 1895.

Could this be the daughter of John and Octavia  ???
Iloe Wall
Born 12 December 1894 and died November 1974
Last Residence: 07901  Summit, Union, New Jersey.
SSN was issued in Ohio (Before 1951)
