Hi Lu

Well you certainly have done an enormous amount of work which confirms the Jewish ancestry side. Perhaps AC Cotterill was just a friend and I am reading in too much because of the missing fact that was this a "compulsory" wedding and the missing period between the wedding in 1909 and Sydney's death in 1913.

He actually died in a private hospital in the Blue Mountains region of NSW and whether this was expensive and paid for the family is a mystery but I would love to know that Prudence was made aware of his death in a timely fashion although she does use the "widow" tag later on. I just hope that my request for an Auckland look-up will be taken up and ,hopefully, I may be able to track down some other direct relatives from this union.
Lu, it is strange that though Ancestry ,. NZ records are not easily accessible at all yet British ones are- are Australian ones available to you? If not , I would only be too happy to look up any of your needs.
Thanks again, you assistance has been invaluable and I appreciate everything you are doing.

Regards

Geoff

Received advices from Funeral Directors, Morrison's , regarding information on another possible child of the above, Leah May SPARKS 9nee Morris/Hogan)- unfortunately they could only advise that "father's name unknown". Funeral notice did give refereces to Australian Christian names but this is a pretty broad clue.
As I have been unable to have her mother, Prudence's probate looked up, I think that I may have reached the end of my limited New Zealand connection- what a shame as it would be such a new branch.
Anyway, as I retink any other avenues to pursue, thanks for all the excellent help, and advice, that I did receive from a great number of wonderful helpers. I may just have to have this enquiry noted as "completed" but will rethink it first.

Regards

Well after the excellent work that Kiwi Girl did in looking up my relatives probate, I think the file can now be deemed to be completed as I will not be able to track down subsequent generations with the privacy constraints that exist in many countries.
I sincerely thank the many contributors to this site and, in particular, the excellent work our moderator Spades does- thank you all very much, it has been a blessing and, quite rewarding.

Regards and best wishes for the future

I am new to this site... Just reading posting by Lucy2 regarding Singer Family (Hokitika).
I am descended from Sarah Singer (Leba's sister).  My understanding is that Annie Singer, who was the  youngest in the family, was the daughter of Leba.  Leba - [maiden name Singer].
Sarah Singer, my g/g/grandmother married Henry Zalick Levy - I have the direct family line from Sarah, but not her brothers and sisters.Joseph Levy as mentioned in some posts is my great grand father.

Hi Levy

I am afraid I am not up on this side of the family at all but I do have a marriage registration for my great uncle's marriage to Prudence Morris. You will note that the mother's name is Morris and her maiden name is Levy (not Singer) but there is another witness, "J. Levy" . all of this is confusing as I believed Leba to have been a Singer also.

Dear BIMINI
Looking at the marriage certificate it looks as though the name is 'Laba' not Leba.  Also I cannot see a date on the certificate... Leba Singer was born in 1859... I need to go and look at records that my parents have of her descendants and will get back to you.

Marriage date is under venue 21/7/1909.
You are correct , it does look like Laba" on the certificate , I must have sourced her name as Leba from another source.

Hi Levy

Thank you for filling in a couple of new dates .
Have you been able to determine why Leba/Laba used the maiden name Levy on the marriage transcript of Sydney Hogan and Prudence?
