Marriage of Richard NEAL and Dorothy, Morley?
« on: Monday 03 September 12 05:57 BST (UK) »
Hi folks

I'm trying to find a marriage for my 4g grandfather Richard NEAL (sometimes NEIL) to Dorothy around 1780.  They had four children that I have found on Familysearch: Hannah chr 1782, Elizabeth chr 1785 and Constantine chr 1786 all at Morley, and Joseph chr 1789 at Breadsall.

There is a birth on Familysearch which could be Richard: b 1756 at Morley to Cornelius and Hannah.

Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks Willsmum, I hadn't thought to look beyond Derbyshire. ::)

I guess its a possibility- its only 13 miles from Castle Donnington to Morley.

I notice there is also another Richard NEALE married to Dorothy in the Coventry area, but more likely to be the Castle Donnington couple I would think.

Hi

If you go into the Genuki Church database, type in the parish you are researching and you get the churches within 3 miles of the parish.

Hi again

You can also look on genuki under England, Derbyshire, towns & parishes, select Morley and at the top of the page it will say nearby places - that gives you all places including ones which may not have a church. I find that really iseful when someone puts a birthplace which is just a tiny little hamlet and from that you can have a good guess at the nearest parish.
