Joseph Frederick Peach
« on: Thursday 06 September 12 12:51 BST (UK) »
Lily May Peach was my husband's grandmother, born 16 December 1900 (I have a copy of her birth certificate).

It shows her father was Joseph Frederick Peach, and her mother Fanny Hallett.  I can trace Fanny Hallett's line back for several generations, but have totally failed to find anything for Joseph before his marriage to Fanny Q1 1900 in Christchurch, so cannot find his parents in any census.  As I don't have a definite birth record for Joseph I cannot send for his birth certificate to find his parents.  :(

I would appreciate any help with this please?

Anne

What information does the 1911 census give regarding his age, place of birth and occupation.  The marriage would help with his fathers name/occupation  ;)
Where and when was Fanny born, that would help us to find him in 1901.

Isobelruss and Rosie - thank you so much for all of that.  I need to get my head round it all.  It just shows that a brick wall is not really a brick wall, at least not in the right hands!

I did see ‘Lock’ but couldn’t figure out how it could match with Frederick so discounted him - oh dear.

If all their info is linked with Dorset, I wonder why they would get married in Christchurch - that is Hampshire is it not?

I am really grateful for your help.
