Star & Garter
« on: Thursday 06 September 12 17:53 BST (UK) »
Hi

Does anyone know where the Star & Garter Hotel was/is in Liverpool. I have a relative living there on 1911 census.

In 1909 there was one of that name in St John's Lane, facing the gardens behind St George's Hall.  It closed in 1918.

But that same one was there in the 1970's as it was on one of our usual pub crawls, it either was and became the Penny Farthing (or the Sportsman did), or it was very near there.

Kelly's 1968 has Kings Arms, Trojans Head, Victoria Hotel.  There were others in Queen Square, like the Stork...
