The Struggle for Women’s Suffrage in New Zealand with Megan Hutching

How did Kate Sheppard and her fellow suffragists do it? And why was it so important to them that women should be able to elect Members of Parliament?

Event Description: On this the anniversary of women being given the vote, Megan will talk about the hows and whys that led to New Zealand becoming the first country in the world where women could vote in general elections in 1893.
