Advise on obituaries
« on: Monday 10 September 12 15:28 BST (UK) »
I've never looked into this before and need some adivce. A family member died 1940 and lived in Birmingham, I know it was and still might be quite a normal thing to do to put it in the paper when someone dies as I can remember my grandparents having it done for them but is there anyway of searching for ancestors ones? Would  the main library in birmingham be my best bet or can I search places online? I have tired on Genes Reunited etc but just get muddled as to what to do.
Any advice would be apprecaited :)

Yes B'ham Library is your best bet. They hold back issues of newspapers covering this period & are on microfilm.
