Hello,

Could some kind soul help me find a baptism please ??

Jane VEREY / VEAREY / VERREY  was born at Gospel Oak farm, Braydon, Wiltshire in approx. 1827 - 1830

Her mother's maiden name was Treadwell but that's all I know ! (Possibly Sarah or Elizabeth)

From the age of 13 onwards she was living with her grandparents in Oxfordshire . I have her on the 1841, 51 and 61 censuses  but would like to find her parents names.

Did she marry and if so - when and where and who did she marry?

Do you have her marriage cert showing her fathers name

Did she marry George Swadling in 1861?

If so - 1871 shows birthplace as Cricklade and birthyear 1832

I have no record of a marriage for her, she was still single and living with her grandparents as at the 1861 census when she was aged 36.

I have no trace of her after that.

In 1861 she was living in the Henley registration district as was this marriage

Marriages June qtr 1861 
George Swadling      Henley  3a 666   
Jane Verey  Henley  3a 666

George was only born in 1832 so she may have "downsized" her age on the 1871 entry - here's the 1871 reference  RG10 Piece 1429 Folio 52 Page 10

The free 1911 index shows she was still alive at that time - birthyear 1830

Freebmd has a death in 1920 which fits an 1829 birthyear

Now I just need her baptism entry to find her mother's christian name.  Shame it's only the father's name on a marriage certificate !!
