Piecing bits and bobs together - Think this could be Howard Augustus Taylor born in New York about November 1865.

1900 Census shows him with a wife Gertrude Murray Taylor. Howard was a lawyer. The couple were divorced by 1910

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MSKN-FBV

Reading this extract below - mentions - Howard matriculated to Harvard University after preparing at St. Paul's School, graduating in 1885. At Harvard, Howard was a member of the Cricket Club and varsity Tennis Team. While at Harvard, Howard Taylor captured the NCAA singles and doubles tennis championship in 1883.

http://deanremembers.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/tennis-chamption-howard-taylor.html

It also mentions a daughter Prudence Palmer BUT I think this was his grand-daughter, Prudence Taylor was the daughter of his son Murray (aged 4 on the bove census)
Prudence was born 19 December 1930 Cobalt. Connecticut. Died 17 October 2003
This was the obituary for Prudence which confirms the above.

Photograph of Howard and Gertrude on the link below - Photographs taken at the Paul Tralles Studio, 808 7th St. N.W., Washington,
D. C., about 1890-1892. Descriptions on back: "Mrs. Gertrude Taylor" and
 "Mr. Taylor"

The web-site below mentions the marriage of Howard and Gertrude

The person who found the photographs writes on the link below - a little background - might help you.
