Thomas Griffiths "Long Garren"
« on: Friday 21 September 12 09:48 BST (UK) »
A Thomas Griffiths is described as a nephew of someone I am extremely curious about in the 1851 Census for Chirk Denbighshire. He is given as born in somewhere in Herefordshire which looks something like "Long Garren" in c 1821.Could anyone with local knowledge of Herefordshire suggest in which Parish of Herefordshire he may have been born in please?

HO107/1993/791/10.

Regards
William Russell Jones.

Yes Mike,it would have been a Welsh voice informing the enumerator.

Don't worry about the writing though,we are not the Grammar Police!

Hi William

A few months ago you gave me the tour of 3 churchyards near you so if it is Llangarren and you need someone to visit the churchyard please let me know as I can detour to there most Mondays on my journey from Hereford to Ross.

Is it Thomas Griffiths or his nephew you are curious about?
If Nephew, whats his name?

Ive got 3 descendants who were born in LLangarren 1700's-1800's, surnames are Dobbs, Goodman & Hall.

Regards

Mike
