Hi looking for help on where i can obtain a copy of a will that was made in new york in 1948. I will copy a part of the document leaving out names etc.
you and each of you are hereby cited to show cause before our surrogates court of the county of kings, to be held in room 24a at the hall of records in the county of kings, on the 18 day of may 1948 at 9.30 in the forenoon of the day, why a decree should not be made to sell the interest of ellen breslin deceased (her address in next) in real property located in the county of kings, state of new york, particularly described in the petition etc.
I have tried to trace my grand uncle James Breslin who went to new york from Derry Ireland in 1907. It would appear that he had some property in his mothers name. there are about 12 names at the top of the document inviting them to attend as they all lived in ireland i think none made the journey. The document has the names of the legal rep, the person as to who the property was to be sold to plus the price 3500 dollars, a number 5455-1944 at the top of the document witness name Hon F D McGarey.
I would really appreciate any help or advice as to how i can follow up this document.
