1882 Anglo Egyptian War ,Khedive Bronze Star completed

Hello
My great Grandfather Charles Campbell Served in the Sherwood Foresters and Recived the Eygpt Medal 1882, which i have and also from his Military papers the Khedive Bronze Star which i dont have ,Could anybody please tell me if this medal was inscribed as was the Eygpt Medal as i would truly love to trace this medal if it was at all possible.

The Khedive's Star was always issued unnamed, but sometimes the recipient would have it engraved privately. Because it's an unnamed medal, it's fairly straightforward for you to buy an original medal to restore the group. Just make sure you buy one with the correct date, there were several issues of the star.

Name interests: Boulton, Murrell, Lock, Croxton, Skinner, Blewett, Tonkin, Trathen.

Thankyou for your fast response,that makes me feel better that i dont have to search down if poss his original medal.
i have seen replica medals like this on ebay,would the originals be so expensive to purchase.
when you say the correct date for an original medal am i looking at 1882

In addition to being privately engraved, some of these medals were 'depot' stamped. There is a collector on the British Medals Forum who is maintaining a list of extant medals. However, I've had a look and currently your mans name is not listed.

Yes indeed, you want an 1882 dated medal.
An original will cost you about £80-100.
