FTM 2011 - print quality when spinning Tree off to One Page PDF
« on: Friday 28 September 12 15:41 BST (UK) »
Anybody got any ideas on improving 'sharpness' when a PDF is created and printed?

Not a big Tree - some 95 names, but printing a 'Poster' format created via 'One Page' PDF is not clear at all - A3 paper, excellent printer etc etc ... the text is big enough to read, but the resolution is very poor, for example, it is hard to distinguish between a '1' and a '2'.....is there anything that can be done about this?  I've tried 3 or 4 differnt fonts (Arial, Calibri, Consolas ...)

I cant see any obvious settings I could change ?

I prefer a PDF as I can easily send it to others on the Tree ...

would be very grateful for any pointers

Maybe zoom in to the chart before clicking save.

Also, check it doesn't give an option for lower/higher resolution when you go through the save process.

Have you tried saving in other formats (jpeg?)? If it comes out better quality, you can always save it as that format then convert that file to pdf. If this is the case then come back to me and I'll let you know how exactly you're supposed to convert it.

the only 'export' option from the displayed chart in FTM 2011 seems to be PDF (one or multiple pages)

I can see no options related to resolution ?

Thank you.
