Aldrington Hotel
« on: Friday 05 October 12 22:53 BST (UK) »
Hello,

In the late 1800s the Aldrington Hotel is shown in Westbourne Street, Aldrington, Brighton. I wonder if anyone can help me with any history of the place, when built, if and when demolished etc., also where I might find photos of the building.

It is now The Westbourne,on the corner of Portland Rd & Westbourne Rd. The view shown on the link above is from Westbourne Rd, the part in Portland Rd is just a building end. Take a look on Google maps

Hello Groom and Petmas,

Thanks both for your replies, I found them really interesting and helpful, it's quite funny Pete, your suggestion of Google street view, I tried some weeks back but thought the building looked far too modern (60 yrs or so) to be the same one from the late 1800s but after reading your replies and looking again I can see it was, I think from what I had heard about it in the past I expected a fairly quaint little country Pub/Hotel rather than the building that is there now. Thanks again.
