on the 1901 census

Have you looked at the 1901 image not just the transcription

The 1901 image shows her as Mary J.  If you go onto the next page - different address - there is a Catherine Quayle in a different family

I think they are 2 different people?
After all, Quayle isn't exactly uncommon on the Isle of Man! ;D

Or maybe he was enumerated twice?
