Goff @ Cranfield, Beds, before 1881
« on: Sunday 29 May 05 07:31 BST (UK) »
I have found my gg grandparents, Zachariah Goff/Elizabeth Bettle  43/45 in 1881, living in Cranfield. Can someone please locate their whereabouts in an earlier census? They were both born in Cranfield.
Thanks very much.

But see 1841 below as there is a better match for Elizabeth

1841 HO107/006 folio 6A
John Bettle 75 ag lab
Ann Bettle 75
both born in Beds
next house
Thomas Bettle 40 ag lab
Mary Bettle 35
Joseph 13; Sarah 10; Elizabeth 8; Mary 1. All born in Beds

Alternatively and probably a better match for age
William Bettle 35 ag lab; Ann 35; Mary 14; George 12; Sophia 8; Charlotte 8;  Elizabeth 6; Caroline 2. All born in Beds
The same family was in Cranfield in 1851 but there was no trace of Elizabeth - William 47 ag lab, Mary 47; Mary 25, Caroline 11; Ann 8, all born Cranfield. The marriage cert Zack/Eliz should give her father's name to identify to which  family Elizabeth belongs.

John Goff 25 ag lab not born in Beds; Mary 25; Zachariah 4 Thomas 2. Last 3 all born in Beds

Regards

David

Hi Acky,

Sorry, but I don't believe that there is any connection.
