According to the 1871 census my great grandfather was serving with the 8th Foot regiment in Salford. Any info on the regiment's activities around this time would be interesting.

Cant tell you what or where but the 8th were The Kings Liverpool Regiment.

If you tell me the man's name, age and place of birth, plus when he served I have several books on the regiment's movements.
