Could anyone help with finding maiden name of Jane C .? B 1848 ,Indiana USA .She married John Graham Stevenson, b 1842 Ohio,possibly in Indiana,before 1870. From  1870 -1910 they are living in Santa Cruz California . On 1930 census, Santa Cruz,California, Jane is listed as widowed ,living with nephew Lavern H Fisher , b 1882 Indiana . Jane`s father b Ireland Mother b Scotland . On one census column for children living or dead is blank.
Any information would be much obliged

Many thanks for looking up a  marriage for me, at first it looked promising as on the 1870 census they are living in Illinois. However I have several census and Jane is listed as Jane C on all of them . But you set me thinking , I have 1870 census ,1900 , 1910 , 1930 ,but no 1880 or 1890. thats a gap of 20 years . So I set to and really studied the census`s and on the 1900 I found a column which stated how may years they were married . 30 yrs. I have just twigged the significance of the numbers , just always looked at the names . That info is going to be very handy ! I then looked on Ancestry for a marriage 1870 and found one for St Joseph ,  Indiana .I think that is a suburb of Elkart ,Indiana ,which is where John`s sister lived . It lists John G Stevenson  and Jane C, Surname . Unfortunately I don`t have Ancestry Worldwide . But I feel I have moved a step further forward . Sometimes you just need a push in the right direction .

Jane is listed in the 1930 Santa Cruz city directory, but not the 1932 one. 

There is a 4 Aug. 1931 death on the California death index for Jane C. Stevenson, age 83, in Santa Cruz Co.

                     Thanks also for this , her age matches her birth date . Do you have any idea where I could access obituaries for Santa Cruz ? I always think you get a lot of info. from them ,hopefully parents etc.
