DIPPER family

Have you any Dipper members in your family tree please.  I am particularly trying to discover data on Frank G. Dipper who was supposedly born in 1902 but of whom I can find no trace.

Can SKS help?

D

That is the problem.   He is supposedly born in 1902 via his death cert.   He died in Hastings/Rother in 1982 aged 80.   However, I cannot find a Frank G born around that time.

He also spent a decade in the USA in the 20s and 30s but returned to England.

There is a Frank G born in 1908 but he lives in London in ther 1911.

My Frank G. is a cook onboard several cruise ships to America and always gives in birth as 1902!!

I was hoping someone else might be looking for the Dipper family.  I know there are still one or two Dippers living in Sussex but who knows whether they are related....

thanks for your response.

There is a Cyril Frank born in Hants, Winchester RD 1902 can't see him later  ???, maybe the London chap is yours and he was unsure of his birth year.

What more do you know for sure, just because he died in Sussex does not necessarily mean he was born in the County  :-\

Hi and welcome,
Did he marry?   Children?  If you have the death certificate who was the informant?    Was there a will?
If you can give us even small snippets more it might help.

Hi,

""always gives in birth as 1902!!  Don't be too stuck on the 1902 date.  Frank may have lied about his age to gain employment on the cruise ships and then kept using that date.

The US censuses for the 20's and 30's are available on-line and may contain useful information if you can find him there. However, they will only tell country of origin - not place within the country

Marriage
Ap/MAy/Jun 1934
Edmonton 3a 1650

to Madeleine H E Dear

He and Madeleine seem to be on later electoral rolls in Hendon

THe marriage cert should give an occupation for him, so you can rule this one in or out - or you may be lucky and find a PR (if they were married in a C of E church)
