I have this surname that I am having some trouble tracking. The information I have been able to find is:
1. It is a nickname meaning "faithful lover"
2. It was related to some Jewish surnames on a few sites, like "Treweloue", "Torrloff", etc.
3. It is Middle English origin
4. I can trace the line back to Yorkshire, England

There are a number of records of Trulove  in London late 1600's -1700's

The school inspector at the Derbys school I attended was Mr Trulove

It was a Fleet Prison marriage, though, and I am tentatively assuming that it was an alias, since I can find no other record of such a person ...
