Please can anyone bring back Emily's face?
« on: Thursday 25 October 12 09:15 BST (UK) »
This is my gg grandmother, Emily Close. Her grand dress is the star of this photo, but her face is so faded  :( Can anyone bring it up just a little for me? I'm not sure if it's possible, or if I've scanned it correctly?

Caroline.

Close, Davies, Thomas, Isaac, Williams - Carmarthenshire, Glamorganshire, Monmouthshire.

She seems to be standing in front of a bookcase/ cabinet with some ivy on the top  of it at top lhs or perhaps it is a window - too faint for me to be sure but the cabinet  looked right I thought

Cheers

This has been scanned at 200 dpi and has been badly compressed.
If you can repost a better scan we will be able to see more details.

Irene

I have played with it and this is what happens when it is sharpened,

Thank you all so much!
My mother will be so pleased - all we had was a photocopy taken from the original photo, which was lost, so you've done a great job.
Interesting - Emily looked a lot like my mother, and definitely where the 'short' genes came from!

Thanks again,
Caroline.
