Papping - COMPLETED
« on: Saturday 27 October 12 19:15 BST (UK) »
Hi,

In 1738 one of my ancestor's occupation is a papper. He had a papping yard in Halstead, Essex. Is there any one who knows what this occupation was, or what it was related to please?
Have tried all sources I know of.

Thanks

Papping is a kind of paste, frequently made from flour and water used by weavers for dressing their linen warp OED.

Thanks Stan,

That makes sense from other records I have of him. Papping did not appear to be in the Full OED at my local library.
