I found this website yesterday, with photos of various headstones (search by surname). Has anyone used this site and if so is it a safe site to log onto with my email address? Thanks.

This site has been mentioned positively in several topics on RootsChat, but there has been very little discussion about it.
try entering
gravestonephotos.com
in the RootsChat search.
regards,
Bob

I've used the site more than once, and it has been fine. And in return I've sent in photographs of headstones.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids. They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Many thanks to both who replied. I just looked up the previous threads about it and will log on now. Much appreciated for, once again, very fast replies.

I've used it and very satisfied with the safety and the person running it.
Please acknowledge when a restorer works on your photos, it can take hours for them to work their magic
Please scan at 300dpi minimum to help save the restorers eyesight.

Thanks, I just requested the photo - it just seemed too good to be true that someone could provide me with a photo of a gravestone for my great x 4 grandparents! Thanks for replying.

Hi Libbyandgwen
It is always great in today's world when info is provided for free! The majority of the indexes/photos have been sent in by contributors from all around the world who have a wish for this information to remain accessible to everyone and also free of charge.
I know one lady in the UK and a member of RC who has been doing graveyard/stone photography for many years and she has been sending in her material ('000s of entries) to the site.
Enjoy
Monica
