Marriages Thomas HUSKINSON EAST BRIDGFORD 1785 CROPWELL BISHOP 1787

Does anyone have access to PRs for East Bridgford or Cropwell Bishop to check the witnesses for marriages of Thomas Huskinson to Elizabeth Peck at East Bridgford 17 May 1785 and of Thomas Huskinson  to Ann Hemsley at Cropwell Bishop  8 Sep 1787?

I'm trying to establish the identity of the Thomas who married in 1785. He's widely reported on-line to be born Lowdham 1750, and the Thomas of the 1787 marriage to be born Cropwell Bishop 1760, but I am sceptical. The Thomas of the 1785 marriage appears to have been buried 1842 "aged 84" and to have been 80 at 1841 census. The 1787 marriage was by licence, but the details I've seen say only "over 21" which does not help resolve it.

Naming patterns don't help either. 1750 had parents William & Sarah, 1760 John & Ann. Children of the 1785 marriage include all 4 of those!

So I'm hoping there might be a Huskinson witness unique to one or the other's family. Any help much appreciated.

I can't help with the witnesses I'm afraid, but on the Notts FHS baptism CD there is this baptism

23.3.1760 Thomas Huskinson to John & Ann at St Giles, Cropwell Bishop.

That would be very much appreciated. I have the NFHS CDs, so it really is a question of whether there is a Huskinson witness for either marriage and if so who.

Hi Johnxyz,

I've had a look at the marriages for you:

Thomas Huskinson and Elizabeth Peck East Bridgford 17 May 1785 witnesses were William Huskinson & Jane Moiler (could be Mouler)

The records for Cropwell Bishop church records for 1787 are missing but they do have the Bishop Transscipts but the marriage for Thomas Huskinson & Ann Hemsley has no witnesses down.

Hi John,

Just an idea, might be worth checking for Will's as sometimes they give clues as to siblings, children and siblings children which might help.  I have myself done this and found it most helpful.

I dont' know anything about the Huskinson's but I'll see if I can find anything out to help you.
