Jack Gay (1895) and wife Mary - Connecticut

Some of my late mothers uncles and aunts emigrated to the USA in 1920's.

I have not been able to find out however anything since 1942 regarding her Uncle Jack.

He was a sailor born in Portsmouth, England on 5/8/1895 to George Gay and Susannah Hickley, although some information shows the birth year as 1894 or 1896.

I have details of several trips from Southampton to New York the last being on 10th May 1922 when he may well have settled in the USA.  He appears in the 1925 Hartford, Connecticut directory living at 286 Windsor Avenue. In the 1930 USA census he is living with his wife Mary at Edwards St, Hartford, she being from Connecticut and it would appear they married around 1924.
He was naturalised 28/2/1941 whilst living at 85, Wyllys St. Hartford and the last record I have is his 1942 draft registration card where he is still married and living at Wyllys St and working for Aetna Realty Corp.

I am fairly sure they had no children as there are none shown in either 1930 or 1940 census.

I am trying to find out:-

The full name of his wife and when they married (her middle initial is C)
Where and when they both died.

There are some pay-per-view articles on Google News Archives that seem to be obituaries in the Hartford Courant for this couple, as well as a few other mentions.

Gay, Jack Mrs (Mary C) died Jan 10 1944  age 51

Thanks so much for the link. Have found obituary for g uncle Jack, also marriage and obituary of his niece Peggy who I now know had three children possibly all still alive but living in Florida at her death in 1985.  Next task is to track them down!

Even found article re his brother Tom's being a hit & run victim a family story my Mum had told me about. Still looking for date of Jacks marriage however.
