Register Lookup for Edmondthorpe

Hi all

I have got back to a Thomas Allen who in the 1851 census for Hickling Notts says he was born about 1777 in Edmondthorpe Leics.  I believe he married Ruth Smith in 1803 in Waltham on the Wolds and they then lived in Hickling.   Can anyone find a baptism for Thomas?  I would love to know his parents names and any further details about the family.

A few other children I found were Allen

Ann 2 May 1765 to William & Elizabeth Allen
Mary 24 Nov 1766 to William & Elizabeth Allen
Alice 3 July 1771 to William & Elizabeth Allen
William 11 July 1774 to William & Elizabeth Allen

Poss marriage
William Allen & Elizabeth Hidson 16 Jan 1758 at Edmondthorpe

I have also been looking at the Allens who were born or lived at Edmondthorpe.  At the moment your Thomas doesn't feature but there could be a connection

The family I'm interested in appear on the 1841 census as follows

William Allen  born 1786  age 55
Ann     Allen  born  1781 age 60
Sarah   Allen  born  1811 age 30
Rebecca Allen born   1821 age 20
William   Allen born   1838 age 3 (Leicester)

I have also located 3 more siblings

Mary Osborn (nee Allen) born 1804 at Wymondham
John Allen                     born  1818 living with his sister
William Allen                  born   1816 (widower) and father of the 3yr old boy.  I can't find him in the 1841 census but he is in the 1851 census living with his new wife Ann and his son William now 13.

Thomas could be the elder brother of William born 1786. There then follows all his children.

Do you think this could be right?

Could anyone look up in Edmondthorpe parish records for three Allen families living or connected to the parish from 1800 approx to 1851/60.

1)  William born 1786 and Ann born 1781,  appear in the 1841 census for Edmondthorpe
2)  Joseph born Edmondthorpe 1825 and Elizabeth also born 1825 in the 1861 census
3)  Thomas born 1761who married Ruth Smith in 1803 in Waltham on the Wold in the 1861 census

I would like to find out if they are related to each other.

 Any entry of the Allen surname in the records would be very useful to try and prove or disprove this.
