Hi

l was hoping that some kind person could possibily help me with a 1881 Census Search please, l am looking for a...

Hannah Radwell Born abt 1868 old Weston Huntingdonshire, On a later Census she is Stated as Born Buckden Huntingdonshire the Birth Place of her mother Alice Fairey, l Have Hannah on the 1871 Census With her Parents Henry and Alice Radwell and her 2 Sisters Ruth Radwell Born abt 1869 Old Weston, And another Sister whos name is not clear and is Transcribed as " Em T Rebt Radwell" Born 1867 Old Weston.

Parents Henry And Alice Radwell Born Past When the children were young Henry in 1875 Dewsbury Yorkshire and Alice 1879 Dewsbury, l found Their Daughter Ruth in the 1881 Census Stated as the Adopted daughter of a Lydia North In Yorkshire, Ruth Sadly Past at the age of 12.

l Have found Hannah Radwell in later Censuses and her Marriage to a John William Bentley in 1893 Yorkshire But l am Struggling to Find her in the 1881 Census after the death of her parents and aged 13.

Any Help with this would be very much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Hi

I cant see her in the 1881 either. As her sister was adopted, the chances are the same thing may have happened to Hannah and she may be recorded under that family's name. She may also be in a workhouse, in which case she may only be recorded using her initials.

Hannah isn't with her sister Elizabeth in 1881 either.

The sister whose name is hard to read in 1871 is Emily Rebecca - the names have been abbreviated to Emy. Reba.  The 1866 birth is registered just as Emily Radwell, but she died in Dewsbury in 1875 aged 8, and was registered as Emily Rebecca.
