Hepplewhite - Wallsend
« on: Thursday 29 November 12 16:55 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help to find out more about a doctor from the Wallsend area. His name is William George Thomas Hepplewhite. He was in the RAMC during the first world war and was awarded the Military Cross in 1917, also he was presented with a silver box by the then Mayor of Wallsend in the same year. I have gleaned some information about his early life in the area, but there is a lot I do not know. I was thinking that there may be something in a local paper of the time about the presentation. Any help would be appreciated.
