Chicago - birth certificates

My aunt was born in Chicago in 1908. Can anyone tell me if a birth certificate for her would exist, and if so how I go about obtaining one.

http://www.cookcountygenealogy.com/ has an index to birth certificates for this time frame.  You have to sign up to search it, but it is free to do so.  If you find a match, it will explain how to order it.

Also check the database for Illinois births on familysearch.org - http://www.rootschat.com/links/0sh8/ - in case it is available for free.
