It helps to post the details that you already know, especially since Doherty is probably one of the most common surnames in Donegal.

Hi Annie, I am new to roots chat and cannot seem to reply to your message, my grandfather James Harkin married a Sarah Doherty they lived in Altashane, Clonmany, James Father was patrick who married a Margaret Davenport, Patricks Father was James who married Bridget Quiqley.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Interesting >:( Quigley is a local name. Maybe a mistranscription on Family search - mine is from parish records.
