Hi
Can I take advantage of your kind offer for look ups please?

I have a David Mackie born 1860 who left Scotland for Australia sometime between 1871 and 1881. I can find him on the 1871 census age 11, by age 21 he has gone. When in Scotland his name was David Michie Galloway but he was known as David Michie.

He reappears in Richmond Australia at the birth of a son (Jack Mackie) on circa 1896, Richmond. His wife' name was Kathleen Smith. I believe she died and he remarried around 1900. (They had two more children in Shepparton David and Carolyn)

Would it be possible for you to see if you could fill any details re this family. I am very interested in when David Mackie arrived in Australia, his death and details of his wife. I would love to fill in the 25 missing years of his life
Thank you very much

Hi,
Is the Richmond you mention in South Australia or Victoria? If it is Victoria where Shepparton is I cannot help you. If it is Richmond South Australia then please get back to me
Shanko

Hi Shanko,

Thank you for looking, that extra information would be very helpful to add to the family tree,I was not sure if William Lewis had any brothers or sisters.

          Thank you    Dexter

Hi Fife Fraser,
The city of Shepparton in Central Victoria has an historical society.  There do not seem to be any cemetery records online for the district, but if Shepparton is where you last knew of the family, you could email some enquiries.

http://home.vicnet.net.au/~shepfh/

These societies often hold school records and electoral information.

Alternatively (or additionally) you could ask on the rootschat board if anyone lives there and may be able to help.
Sue

Thanks Sue, I have tried the NSW archives without success and am now in touch with a descendant in Australia who is having the same amount of luck as me.
Thanks again for your help
Joan :)

Hi Shanko,

I've just discovered that three brothers of my g-grandmother seem to have gone to Sth Australia.

I can be quite precise about two of them.  Henry H D Denham seems to have gone between his marriage in late 1869 and the English census in 1871.  Digby Denham went in 1881.  I know only that Edward Denham went during the 1870s.

If you can find any of these, I would be most grateful!

Thank you,

MarieC

I am seeking any information regarding Daborn family, unfortunately I have no idea where in Australia they lived!

Any assistance with this would be much appreciated.
